About My Painting
Industrially- and mass-produced objects become personalized as they are used by unique individuals.
I glean the history of an object from how it has been formed, folded, scratched, colored, stretched, cut, and more. Then I recover and enhance the hidden dynamics in aged wearables. Through this improvisational process, visual evidence on the surface becomes more pronounced, or is acknowledged or eliminated. My challenge is to experience, and respond closely to, the characteristic qualities of a found item.
